This workshop will help work-based learning (WBL) educators navigate the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for student preparation, industry partnerships, and career readiness programming.
Participants will explore how AI is transforming the world of work, analyze emerging labor trends, and consider how to embed AI awareness and responsible use into their existing WBL structures. Through collaborative planning, reflection, and resource sharing, attendees will draft strategies to prepare students for AI-influenced careers, as well as develop AI-related workplace learning experiences.
Participants will:
- Understand the impact of AI on the workforce and how it affects career pathway planning.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI literacy into existing WBL programs.
- Explore examples of AI-infused WBL experiences that promote career readiness.
- Plan for partnerships with industry to reflect emerging AI skills.
- Develop a customized strategy to prepare students for AI-influenced careers and ethical workplace use of AI.
