Lizzy Pope

Lizzy Pope is an Associate Professor and Director of the Dietetics Program at the University of Vermont (UVM) in the department of Nutrition and Food Sciences. Her research interests center on weight-inclusive nutrition education in adolescents and young adults, examinations of diet culture in our society, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. She teaches several courses at UVM including the introductory nutrition course. She received a BA in Psychology from Dartmouth College in 2005, a MS and her Registered Dietitian credential from Columbia University in 2008, and her PhD in 2013 from UVM. Lizzy became a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor in 2019. Swimming and running are two of Lizzy’s personal passions, as well as reading historical romance novels, watching reality and period TV shows, and listening to gymnastics as well as pop culture podcasts.
