Esther Charlestin is a dynamic leader who champions meaningful change through proven leadership, authentic public service, and professional facilitation. As the second Black woman in America to win a gubernatorial primary, she brings fresh solutions to Vermont’s challenges while honoring our shared values of community, sustainability, and equity. Esther’s unique strength lies in collaborative problem-solving, ensuring every voice and every community has a seat at the table. Through personal storytelling, strategic thinking, and a calming, hope-filled presence, she builds genuine trust and facilitates difficult conversations that move the needle additively and sustainably. She embodies sustainable activism, creating impact while maintaining joy, honoring family priorities, and setting healthy boundaries. With a deep commitment to supporting Vermont’s educators, Esther has worked with school districts, educators, and education leaders to foster inclusive and collaborative learning environments.
