Learning requires effort and challenge—but too often, the way we design school creates unnecessary barriers that make learning harder than it needs to be for students.
In this 3-part webinar series, participants will use Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a framework for rethinking how traditional classroom structures can inadvertently exclude students—especially those who are neurodivergent. In addition, we will identify hidden demands that impact executive functioning, language processing, and sensory regulation.
Participants will explore practical, tier-one strategies that can be implemented across the whole class. With variability, voice, and choice at the center, educators will learn how to design lessons that reduce barriers and expand access—so every student has a clearer path to learning.
Participants Will:
- Examine how conventional school design can unintentionally exclude students.
- Identify hidden demands that interfere with learning.
- Apply the principles of UDL to lesson planning.
- Strengthen foundational inclusive practices that support neurodivergent learners.
