VT-HEC Transitions – Welcome Alicia

Alicia Beth Joins VT-HEC as New Director of Licensing Programs

I am very pleased to share that Alicia Beth has accepted the position of Director of Licensing Programs. Alicia has considerable special education credentials and impressive higher education experience. Her wealth of knowledge and experience should enhance our current licensing programs and help in the exploration and development of new programs.

Alicia worked on developing, managing, and coordinating a number of programs at the University of Texas including a program focused on preparing STEM teachers, a dual enrollment program and a number of research and evaluation efforts.

Most impressive perhaps was her work winning funding for and then developing and managing a program focused on teaching Computer Science. This program was aimed at reducing gender, racial and economic inequities in computer science education and ended up working with over 40 colleges around the country.

Alicia has a PhD in Education Psychology and worked as an Evaluation Specialist in North Country SU in Vermont before taking a position as Associate Professor and Department Chair at Landmark College. Landmark College is a private college in Putney, Vermont exclusively for those with diagnosed learning disabilities, attention disorders, or autism.

Please join us in welcoming Alicia to the VT-HEC fold. She is very excited to begin working with us and we are very excited to have her.
