Act 173 and several other special education rule changes went into effect on July 1, 2022. While these changes are specific to special education, the information needed to implement them relies heavily on general education systems, including: appropriate layered interventions delivered with fidelity, careful analysis of progress monitoring data, and effective educational support team collaboration.

This 4-part series will support schools with both new and upcoming changes and their connection to existing Vermont special education requirements. These sessions clarify the critical partnerships needed between general educators and special educators to ensure the shared responsibility of successful implementation.

Included is an Activity and Discussion Guide with links, videos, and documents to work from as you complete the training. We recommend identifying a facilitator to guide you through the activities.
