Universal Design for Play Materials

This workshop will focus on how to enhance the supports within typical play and learning centers in childcare settings, preschools, and home to enable young children with ASD and other differences who struggle in independent and social play. Participants will work with a planning framework as they explore ways to structure learning settings and materials to support a range of learners. Participants will make and discuss ways to use a dozen supporting setups across a typical childcare or preschool/ kindergarten to be both appealing and successful to these learners.
