VT-HEC & VT-AOE Partner on School Nurse Information Project

New Resources Available to School Nurses Through UVM Dana Library

The Vermont Agency of Education and the Vermont Higher Education Collaborative have partnered to provide access to information for Vermont school nurses through the University of Vermont Dana Medical Library’s Health Research Associate (HRA) program. This membership provides an array of information resources and services for health care providers and professionals. The following gives some specifics, including ‘how to’ information for school nurses making requests.

Requesting a full-text journal article

Use the online form http://library.uvm.edu/dana/services/ill/index.php

  • Choose “Health Research Associate” as your Primary Affiliation.
  • Enter your contact information
  • Enter the complete citation (title, author, journal, date, pages) of the article you need.
  • Enter “VT School Nurse” in the Budget Number field.
  • Submit your request. The article will be delivered by email attachment.

 

Reference Services

General reference questions are answered free of charge. In-depth literature search or reference consultations are billed at $55/hour. To get help, call the Dana Medical Library Reference Desk at (802) 656-2201 or email danaref@ uvm.edu.

School nurses are welcome to use library resources in person for free. The Library is located on the concourse between the UVM Medical Education Center and the 2nd level of the West Pavilion in Fletcher Allen.  Just follow signs to the Medical Education Center and Dana Library.
